The Prizes of the Bach Competition 2025

Awards

• 1st Prize: 20.000 €
• 2nd Prize: 10.000 €
• 3rd Prize: 5.000 €

The 1st prize is donazted by Sparkasse Leipzig, main sponsor of the Bach Competition.
The prizewinners are entitled to use the title “Bach Prizewinner”.

Special Prizes

> Wagler Leipzig GmbH: custom made stage outfit for one of the finalists in the amount of 2,500 € for the winner of the 1st prize

> Christa Bach-Marschall Foundation: Scholarship for one of the participants in the amount of 1,000 € for participation in a master class

> Genuin Classics: a CD production with the winner of the 1st prize

> Audience Award, donated by the Vereinigung der Freunde des Bach-Archivs e.V.: 2.000 € for one of the finalists

> Bärenreiter Urtext-Preis: Voucher for urtext edition from Bärenreiter Edition in the amount of 500 € for one of the finalists

Concert engagements

The winner of the 1st prize will perform a solo recital in the Great Hall of the Gewandhaus on 12 June 2025 as part of Bachfest Leipzig 2025.

All three finalists will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerto for Three Pianos and Orchestra in D minor, BWV 1063, in a »Grand Concert« by the Gewandhausorchester on 19 June 2025 as part of Bachfest Leipzig 2025.

All three finalists will perform a concert with the Mendelssohn Kammerorchester on 14 June 2026 as part of Bachfest Leipzig 2026.

The Julius Blüthner Pianoforte will provide concert opportunities in several countries for prize winners.
