The 2024 Bach Medal of the City of Leipzig is awarded to Andreas Staier. From the jury's statement: "Andreas Staier's playing testifies to both the spiritual and intellectual exploration of Bach's works and the gift of realising his ideas masterfully and with an absolutely natural effect." The Bach Medal will be awarded during the concert by the Mayor of Leipzig, Burkhard Jung, and the Director of the Bach Archive, Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Peter Wollny.
